First Public Demonstration Complete

The University of South Florida's Institute for Safety Security Rescue Technology demonstrated an iSENSYS rotary-wing micro air vehicle (MAV) launching from a small 6 foot long unmanned surface vehicle (USV) at the Pensacola Naval Air Station on July 12, 2007. This demonstration is a milestone in the Sea-RAI (Sea Robot-Assisted Inspection) project, which is expected to lead to teams of mixed-initiative robots for environmental monitoring, port security, disaster response and recovery, and military operations in littoral regions.
